Kairos Prison Ministry

Kairos Prison Ministry is an interdenominational Christian ministry that God has blessed tremendously in recent years here in California.  Where there used to be only a small number of prisons being served, now there are many.  During a Kairos weekend, a team of laymen and clergy go into a prison institution located for three days, to bring to as many as 42 new inmates Christ's unconditional love.

Many men and women from the Southern California Walk to Emmaus Community have worked in the past, and are now working, on Kairos teams.  Here is a list of the facilities where Kairos weekends are currently being held in California, along with contact information where available.

Kairos Outside Ministry

In addition to the Kairos Prison Ministry, there is a Kairos Outside Ministry for the wives, mothers, sisters, and daughters of male inmates.  In the Southern California area, these weekends are held at Trinity United Methodist Church in Pomona (the same location where the Emmaus Walks are held).  Each weekend is Friday-Sunday.  Here is the list of Kairos Outside communities in California, along with contact information where available.

Epiphany Ministry

Epiphany is a prison ministry for youth that is held at these Southern California youth facilities:  Ventura Youth Correctional Facility, where both females and males are served, and Heman G. Stark Youth Correctional Facility for males in Chino.  The format of these weekends is similar to Kairos weekends, but they are designed to minister to youth who are in prison.
